Hello and welcome — we're so glad you've found us here in the beautiful Lake District.
Hospitality has been part of my life for more than 35 years, beginning in my family's holiday park business and growing into a lifelong passion for helping guests discover this incredible part of the world. In 2007, my husband Derek and I bought our own holiday park in the Lake District. Although we still own the park today, it is now managed by others, allowing us to focus on providing a more personal hosting experience through Windermere Stays.
Windermere Stays is our collection of quality self-catering accommodation in a peaceful rural setting, just a 10-minute drive from Bowness-on-Windermere. Whether you're planning a walking holiday, an outdoor adventure or simply a chance to relax and recharge, our location offers the perfect balance of tranquillity and convenience. Scenic walks begin right from the doorstep, while the cafés, restaurants, shops and boat cruises of Bowness are all within easy reach.
Our accommodation includes:
- Fellside Studio – a stylish, dog-friendly studio for two, perfect for couples looking to explore the Lakes.
- Larchside Apartment – a spacious one-bedroom apartment for two, offering extra comfort for longer stays.
- The Chalet (coming soon) – a dog-friendly holiday home sleeping up to four guests, ideal for small families or couples wanting additional space.
Guests also enjoy access to our shared garden, where stunning views across Lake Windermere provide the perfect place to unwind after a day exploring.
We're surrounded by breathtaking scenery, peaceful lake shores and miles of walking and cycling routes, making our accommodation an excellent base for discovering Windermere, Bowness, Ambleside and the wider Lake District National Park.
One of the things we enjoy most is sharing our local knowledge. Whether it's recommending a favourite walk, suggesting somewhere special to eat, or pointing you towards a hidden viewpoint, we're always happy to help you experience the Lake District like a local.
